Justyna Dąbrowska, a psychologist and journalist, will tell us about risks of cutting off the memory of generations, about lessons left by meeting with masters, about sincerity of conversations with the elderly, and about the fundamental questions that you can ask them.
Thursday, 11.07 Small ones
The landscape of side roads (Krajobraz bocznych dróg), We in the embrace of the trees (My w objęciach drzew), Have a mountain or a river (Miej górę lub rzekę), The Twilight of the Human Age(Zmierzch epoki człowieka) – we will use titles of texts and books by Adam Robiński as subjects to talk about nature – about admiration for it and fear of its imminent loss.
Friday, 12.07 Deaf ones
There may be even 200 thousand of them in Poland. The deaf – one of the most neglected social groups – are fighting for their language, rights and dignity in schools and hospitals. Anna Goc, a reporter, will tell us about them.
Saturday, 13.07 Sweaty ones
Football – athletes, fans and politics. Michał Okoński will talk about diseases and highlights of the world’s most popular sport, about the experience of cheering on, in which defeat is integral, and about why the players sometimes land on the cover of “Tygodnik Powszechny”.

Thursday, 11.07 Will Europe fall apart?
Populism, nationalism, Brexit – will they destroy or ultimately strengthen the EU? We will talk about the traps of a stereotypical view of the crisis in Europe and whether we will still be creating it together in a few years’ time with Dariusz Rosiak.
Friday, 12.07 People’s Church, institutions’ Church
Meeting with Szymon Hołownia – a conversation about the dilemmas of a Catholic who finds it increasingly difficult to believe in the Church. How to stay with Pope Francis? Can faith be individualized? How to react to hating on religion?
Saturday, 13.07 Poland after Gdańsk
The murder of Paweł Adamowicz is one of the greatest tragedies of recent years. Will the shock caused by it bring about a return of society and community to the place of the Polish “political tribes”? Perhaps, Piotr Mucharski, editor-in-chief of “Tygodnik Powszechny”, will answer these questions.

TESTING GROUND OF VERBAL BOUTS

The key to understanding the social reality around us is in discussion. By formulating clear arguments and trying to disprove them, we can determine where the friction point of the dispute lies and, consequently, what the essence of the problem is. In this way, we separate the merit wheat from the chaff.
During the Festival we will make a bold attempt to conduct a substantive (which does not mean – emotionless!) discussion on four topics:

Thursday, 11.07 What should we punish for?
Friday, 12.07 Insane and dangerous. Can we isolate a man for who he is?
Saturday, 13.07 Prohibition of hate speech – necessity or violation of freedom of speech?

The introduction to each topic will be short popular science texts, which can be found at the links below. Reading them is not obligatory, but it will be a good starting point for arguments that we hope will be triggered. The texts will also be available on the festival grounds.
All the lecturers are connected with the Department of Criminal Law of the Jagiellonian University. It is here that we usually hold discussions and enter into disputes.

Włodzimierz Wróbel – Jagiellonian University professor judge of the Supreme Court. In extra-legal reality, a runner in love with Chopin.
Witold Zontek – Doctor of law, assistant judge, amateur audiophile. He would like to eventually run a marathon, but he still lacks time…
Gosia Pyrcak-Górowska – doctor of law, attorney. Addicted to sweets, coffee and crime novels.
Szymon Tarapata – a doctor of law and an attorney. Fan of strength sports and Wisła Kraków; feasting enthusiast.
Wojciech Górowski – a doctor of law, an attorney, a hip-hop fan and a gourmet. Petrolhead.

The series of circles at Slot
G15 / Wednesday–Saturday
Circles are a specific form of meetings during which the space necessary to safely share one’s history, experience, impression or state of being is created. Circle is a kind of art of listening to each other with attention, empathy, respect, understanding – without interruption, without giving advice, without judging. It is an opportunity to stop for a moment, to reflect on what is inside us, to confront it, to hear oneself. There is no such thing as hierarchy in the circle, we are all equal and every voice and every story told is important. All the SAF circles are mixed, which means that there are no gender divisions.
Wednesday, 10.07 “What’s living?” What’s inside you right now? How’s your today, how’s your life? Are you comfortable or uncomfortable? Bring everything that’s alive in you right now to the circle.
Thursday, 11.07 “The image of femininity” What image of femininity do you have inside you, do you paint it or did someone else paint it for you? Are there any frames in which this picture needs to fit? Do you like it or does it require some changes? What does this situation provoke in you?
Friday, 12.07 “The image of masculinity” What are the challenges of being a boy or a man? Do men have any unique goals to achieve in life? Who sets them for them? Is this “male programming” up to date or is this just a myth? How do you personally feel with it?
Saturday, 13.07 “My strength is…” What is your driving force in everyday life and in life in general? What makes you want to do things? Or maybe you don’t want at all? Maybe this force is present in every moment, or maybe it has disappeared somewhere along the road? Share your story during the circle.
Agnieszka Zerka – She is a mother of a five-year-old Sirius, a pedagogue by education, a social leader by calling. For many years she has been creating circles – for women and mixed. Agnieszka is a creator of educational and cultural projects for both children and adults; she also conducts many developmental workshops for women devoted to self-acceptance and body-positivity; she is also a creator of original methods of working with children in the field of sensory sensitivity, fairy-tale therapy and development of creativity.

Socrates Café / E13
In a world full of fake news and informational bubbles, it is essential to be able to listen to the other person without hurtful assumptions and to ask questions aimed at understanding. The Socrates Café is an open discussion that gives you the opportunity to both share your thoughts and listen to others. It is an opportunity to see how concepts whose meaning we take for granted on a daily basis can be seen in different ways – and to look closely at our own beliefs. Anyone can join the conversation – during the discussion we avoid references to works of culture or arguments of authority. We speak from ourselves, thinking about other participants. When someone speaks, we listen. When we need clarification, we ask a question. The topic will be chosen together at the beginning of the discussion.
Piotr Więckowski – likes to discuss and analyze commonly accepted phenomena. The Socrates Café discussions helped him learn to express himself. He discovered them 3 years ago during the Krakow meetings, which he started to host after some time. Now he, with several other people, organize discussions once a week – in turns in Polish and English. Professionally, he creates computer animations.

Playing with associations and writing short slogans on important and current topics together. It boosts creative thinking, inspires to play with language and express one’s thoughts in the form of unconventional texts, which are then placed on black-and-white posters.

WORLDS AND SPACES
Wednesday–Saturday
After these meetings, you’ll have beautiful dreems, even on the hardest sleeping mats. Those in love with spaces without borders, the art of cartography, music and literary fantasy are invited to the evenings with story-telling and a projector. Mandatory luggage – a bit of imagination.
Wednesday, 10.07With Stanisław Łubieński we will rise our heads up, or maybe even we will rise up and fly – getting to know the secret life of birds, listening to anecdotes from the life of birdwatchers and guessing if there are green parrots in Poland.
Thursday, 11.07With the composer and instrumentalist, Karolina Cicha, we will go along the fences – along the tracks, where freight trains are slowly rolling towards the border, with empty horizons and rusty signs. And with songs of Podlasie – the wisdom of generations in nine languages.
Friday, 12.07 Wouldn’t we be better off without the GPS in our phones? What was first, the road or the destination? And what do the Freudian slips of old cartographers say about the collective imagination of humanity? Bartek Dobroch takes us on a journey… through the maps.
Saturday, 13.07Why should you fall asleep with a book? The unlimited power of imagination and the writing traps of fantasy, will be the themes of Ryszard Koziołek‘s literary and anthropological story.
